The message also acknowledged the significant number of industry professionals based in Los Angeles who are personally impacted by the disaster.
The email also outlined other adjustments to the schedule. The International Feature Shortlist Screening, initially set for Wednesday night, has been postponed to later in the week.
Additionally, the in-person Los Angeles Sound Branch Bake-Off and Makeup Artists and Hairstylists Branch Bake-Offs, both scheduled for January 11, have been canceled.
The wildfires in Los Angeles County, driven by powerful winds, have been catastrophic. At least five people have lost their lives, and many others have sustained serious injuries.
The Palisades Fire, which has caused the most destruction in the county’s history, has already claimed over 1,000 structures. The fire is still raging in areas near Malibu and Santa Monica.
